Think of the world as a whole, of the hospitals filled with patients who have been stricken with disease and calamity for many years; and the prisons in which thousands of people are held behind bars, their lives and pleasured ruined; and they asylums and hospitals which accommodate people who have lost their minds and have become insane. Are there not poor people living in tattered tents and hovels, who cannot find a bite to eat? Are there not women who have been stricken with calamities that took away all their children in a single accident? Or women have lost their sight or hearing, or whose arms or legs have been amputated, or who have lost their minds, or who have been stricken with chronic diseases such as cancer and the like? When Imām Mālik wanted to narrate Ahadeeth, he would perform ritual ablution, sit down in the front of a Masjid, comb his beard and proceed to do so with great dignity. When he was asked why he did so, he replied, 'This is my way of expressing my reverence and respect for the Ahadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him). Allāh Subḥānahu wataʿālā says in the Qur’ān [13:28]
“... Verily, in the remembrance of Allāh do hearts find rest.”
He Subḥānahu wataʿālā also says in the Qur’ān [39:22]
“Is he whose heart Allāh has opened to Islām, so that he is in light from His Lord (as he who is non-Muslim)? So, woe to those whose hearts are hardened against remembrance of Allāh! They are in plain error!”
Shaykh Al-Islām Aḥmad Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allāh have mercy on him) said: “The remembrance of Allāh for the heart is like water for the fish. What will be the state of the fish if it is taken out of water?”
Abū Hurayrah (may Allāh be pleased with him) reported that Allāh's Messenger (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: "Your (ordinary) fire is one of 70 parts of the (Hell) Fire." Someone asked, "O Allāh's Messenger (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) This (ordinary) fire would have been sufficient (to torture the unbelievers)," Allāh's Apostle said, "The (Hell) Fire has 69 parts more than the ordinary (worldly) fire, each part is as hot as this (worldly) fire."Continue reading..
